To produce the film, the Georgia State Patrol turned to Jim Shuler, the Director of Public Affairs for the Department of Public Safety. Shuler, an Emmy Award winning former Atlanta television reporter, served as Executive Producer and coordinated the shooting and editing of the film. "The film started out as a recruitment tool for the State Patrol, but as a result of the quality and message, even veteran troopers wanted copies," Shuler said. The Department of Public Safety decided to distribute the film to every State Trooper in Georgia. "It really captures the pride and integrity of this career and turned out to be a tribute to those who are putting their lives on the line to make our state safe," Shuler observed. |

Shuler hired 17 time Emmy Award winning director and producer Dan Johnson of ImageMaster Productions to direct the film. Johnson also committed to shoot the film himself, which he is rarely available to do, but says he is glad he had this opportunity. "It was a real eye-opening experience for me," said Johnson. "The men and women of the Georgia State Patrol are some of the finest and best trained law enforcement officers in the country. They truly are the elite law enforcement agency in the State of Georgia," Johnson concluded. |
